Blackcat Ransomware Hits Alexandria, Louisiana

A ransomware attack from Blackcat (aka AlphV) impacted Alexandria, Louisiana on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022. The attack is being investigated and currently with no disruption to city operations as they are proceeding as scheduled. Louisiana Governor, John Bel Edwards was addressed directly on Blackcat's post, seemingly mocking the governor for not learning from the 2019 Louisiana ransomware attack, where a state of emergency was declared. In this latest breach, Blackcat has claimed to have stolen 80 GB of city-data.
