Killnet DDoS Attacks Target Italy

A cybersecurity activity alert was released by Italy's Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) with  detail of distributed denial-of-service attacks targeting Italy. As warned in the public alert, “There continue to be signs and threats of possible imminent attacks against, in particular, national public entities, private entities providing a public utility service or private entities whose image is identified with the country of Italy.” Telegram activity from Russian hacktivist group, Killnet appears to be inciting disruptive activity against Italy based on research from BleepingComputer. The hacktivist group has made numerous calls for volunteers last week, calling for 3,000 "cyber fighters" to support “Operation Panopticon.”
