MuddyWater Part of Iranian Intelligence Activities

U.S. Cyber Command’s, Cyber National Mission Force, provided information on their tracking linking threat actor group MuddyWater to Iran's Intelligence agency, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS). The group has operated activities largely focused against Middle Eastern, European, and North American nations. Quoted from the Congressional Research Service, the agency MOIS, “conducts domestic surveillance to identify regime opponents. It also surveils anti-regime activists abroad through its network of agents placed in Iran’s embassies."
