APT37 Targeting Journalists and Researchers
NK News, with Stairwell's assistance, identifies APT37 targeting journalists and researchers with spear-phishing emails containing GOLDBACKDOOR malware. Hive0117 Phishing Campaigns
IBM Security X-Force reports on Hive0117's phishing campaigns identified in February 2022. Targeting electronic, industrial, and telecommunications sectors, the group deploys DarkWatchman RAT through emails posing as the Russian Government’s Federal Bailiffs Service. The activity appears unrelated to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Tricks from SocGholish and Zloader
Cybereason reports on SocGholish and Zloader malware. SocGholish uses social engineering for drive-by downloads, leading to Cobalt Strike and ransomware.
