Attacking Magento 1 eCommerce platform

Over 500 eCommerce platforms using Magento 1 have been compromised, as reported by Sansec. Attackers utilized SQL injection and PHP Object Injection to gain control and deploy malicious payment skimmers from the domain naturalfreshmall[.]com. Exploiting a leak in the Quickview plugin, attackers created a backdoor by adding a validation rule to the 'customer_eav_attribute' table, which allowed for the execution of malicious PHP code during the Magento sign-up process.
